Boots Opticians Maldon

I found all the staff to be very friendly and knowledgeable in their respective roles. As my prescription had changed I was looking to move to a pair of varifocal lenses for the first time and needed to ask a few questions about how I might adapt to the new prescription. I found the store manager, Mrs Morkham, particularly helpful with her advice and I left the store feeling confident that I had made the right choices.
Overall a very pleasing and satisfactory experience.
The previous Optician (Nina) at the Maldon branch was incredibly thorough. Unfortunately she has left and this was not the case with the optician I saw this week. I was in and out of my contact lens check appointment in less than 10 minutes. Half the checks Nina would perform weren't done.
Very disappointing, as my eye care is very important to me.
The other staff in this branch are always helpful, especially Sally.
Attended for a contact lens check and whilst my prescription was checked amended - I had to ask whether it was stronger/weaker... feel that there was little time spent checking actual eye I.e. Put the yellow dye in and spent less than a minute shining light in etc. I would have thought more time would have been spent here especially as it's my first check up since restarting Contact lenses
I had a problem with one eye for over 12 hours and rang at 11 am and was given an appointment at 11.45. I was seen immediately and my eye very thoroughly examined. Eventually a small piece of grit was removed and because of very dry eye I was recommended some appropriate medication. Excellent prompt sympathetic service well done.
I was extremely disappointed with my visit to Maldon Boots opticians. Previously i saw an extremely helpful lady, who settled my fears around the eye condition I have and recommended that I have the eye scan eye time i come, so that if the issue arrises again i have some information for the hospital. The optician i saw this week was extremely dismissive of my eye condition, and also didn't offer the eye scan until i asked for it. I was then told the machine wasn't working. Had someone told me this at the time of contacting me to confirm the appointment, I would have rescheduled to somewhere else. I feel the £25 i paid for this service was a waste of money, and should i not get a call to rebook the eye scan within the next 2 weeks, I will make a formal complaint and require my money back.
