Rachel, Optometrist, The Strand. I travelled to London on Tuesday 28/3 and my left eye contact lens had doubled/tripled over and I could do nothing about it so I put in a spare so I could see clearly during the day. At Canary Wharf 2 opticians, Vision Express and another private practice would not help as I needed an appointment.Totally uncaring.Score0/10. Much later in the day I noticed Boots Opticians, The Strand, called in and Rachel saw me straight away. My lens was stuck at the very top of my eye ball (she had never seen a lens so difficult to find) and she even had difficulty finding it with her optical equipment. After putting in dye and washing the eye with lots of saline she eventually found it and popped it out.10/10. I want to praise her for her professionalism, first rate immediate customer service, great personality and for her totally caring approach to my problem. She is a great ambassador for Boots Opticians and a great asset, I wish her well with her career and know she will be highly successful. Rachel probably saved me a visit to an overworked A&E Department to have it removed as I would never have been able to see it let alone remove it from that location in my eye.Well done and thank you for your considerable help. I wish you every success in your career.

I really expected the appointment to cost a lot more than it did. It was my first eye test in several years and I didn't know how much the eye test was going to be. I became a bit nervous about the likely cost when I realised how professional and high quality the experience was. With the automated testing technology, the courteous staff and the confident expertise of the polite and friendly optometrist, I felt like I was at a £250 private hospital consultation. With such a great overall experience, I'm now a lot more likely to return get my eyes checked in the recommended 2 years time!

Excellent staff in this boots opticians, this is the second time I have been to this branch and they are always so welcoming and helpful. I was seen to promptly and my Optometrist explained what she was doing every step and the results afterwards. She even talked me through my eye x ray which was fascinating! The lady who helped me pick my glasses was also extremely helpful in finding a style and colouring that suited my features, as well as my price range - I cannot wait for them to arrive!

Would have been better to not always go for the most expensive thinnest glasses and rather say blue coating is better if the frame is anyway thick and the glass thickness isn't noticeable that much
