Tom, the optician, was fantastic. He was incredibly professional but also clearly passionate. I would go back to that branch on the strength of him alone. Please pass on my thanks, I could not ask for more from a medical professional. The pre-optician stage was a bit strange, there was no explanation of what I would need to do (e.g. puffs of air on the eye) or why. There was also no warning of the bright flashes of light. I completely understand that your more junior staff will guide many people through the basic pre-optician tests each day but for the visitor it is a rare experience. It would be nice to know what is about to happen and why, not least because it is fascinating!
