i booked the appointment as I get a yearly check free from work. My mum had recently gone blind in one eye so was understandably worried about my own vision. First girl was nice and friendly. When I went in to see the Optometrist she seemed put out that I would come back after 1 year when they recommended a 2 year check up. then what came next was like torture! She shone a very bright light in my eye which went on for what felt forever I was in agony and my eyes were streaming but she seemed annoyed at me needing to wipe my soaking wet face. After the exam she asked when was my last health check but no explanation as to why this was of what she had seen or what I am meant to say to my gp. 2 days later my eyes are still hurting and I had to take paracetamol the following day. This is not what i expected from a simple eye test.
