My first visit to Boots, Gyle Centre, Edinburgh went extremely well and I was really very pleased with the service I received and the staff were just great. The Optometrist was really good and let me know that because I was taking Tamoxifen I would have to visit them once a year and explained why. On my second visit to pay for glasses I wasn't so happy with the service and the guy I saw gave me a bit of a hard time. Firstly I had a voucher for £30 but he told me it had already been taken off (don't know how as only received it before I went in) and I had to argue with him to have the £30 discount taken off the cost of my glasses. He also asked why I had left it until then to go in and pay for them which I thought was in appropriate and frankly none of his business. Went in today and picked up my glasses from a lovely lady called Laura (I think :-)) and was so lovely. Laura was going to speak to the guy from my previous visit and also the manager which was great and hopefully he wont feel the need to behave like he did to anyone else. I had had a particularly bad day at work and wasnt feeling in top form on the day I spoke to him and perhaps he will keep this in mind next time he speaks to a customer. On the whole the first and last visits were so lovely but the middle one wasnt great customer service. Isobel Phillips
