I had my tested in September 2016 in Boots Opticians Colindale By Ekta Dattani. She advised me that my prescription had changed and that I would need to change my varifocals. With the advice given to me I spent £240 on new varifocals. Few weeks later I went to collect the varifocals and they felt strange when I put them on. I was advised by your colleague this was normal and to take them away and try get use to them. I tried and tried to use them at work but I just couldn’t see the computer screen properly, and they kept giving me headaches. It was actually better with my older prescription, at least I could see the screen! What a waste of £240, the new spectacles were not even fit for my purpose! So I went back to Boots Opticians Colindale, I told them my vision wasn’t very clear with the new specs and that I was really struggling with the screen. I explained to them I had worn varifocals before and I know how to use them but with the ones given to me something wasn’t quite right. My last pair of varifocals were from Boots Opticians in Greenford. So they called them to find out the details of the lenses I had before. I was told as the lenses I was given were different to what I had had before this was the reason, shouldn’t they have check this with me before they gave me another lens, surely they should have discussed it with me that they were changing the type of varifocal. So they reassured me they would send them back and everything would be ok. So I went back few weeks later. Again I went through the same process. I put the spectacles on and it felt strange. I was told to take them away and to try them as now they were exactly the same lens as the ones I had previously. When I tried using them at work, I just couldn’t see through them. I was finding it difficult to focus and it was beginning to panic me as I couldn’t see clearly anymore. Was there something wrong with my eyes that the optician missed. I went back to Boots Colindale to explain the problems I was having. Instead of helping me they told to keep trying them. I’m so angry that I have to keep taking time off work to go back there as they seem too busy in coming up with excuses and telling me to keep persisting with them than trying to resolve the problem. I’ve tried they are not working!! This has been going on for too long and I am not happy I’ve had to waste my time for the matter not to be solved. I’ve given you multiple chances to help resolved the matter but fact still remains I can’t see through my glasses. I want my money back as the glasses are not fit for purpose and compensation for the time wasted. I will be taking my complaint further should this not get resolved quickly. I have had the worse experience ever with Boots Colindale and shall be sharing this experience with all my friends and family. AVOID BOOTS COLINDALE – they don’t care about you once they have your money!! Valbai Senghani
