Wrong assessment for reading glasses
Told I needed 3 sets of glasses
Subsequently the diagnosis was then wrong for for the vari focals
Then had further consultation and re assessment and told I should only need two pairs of spectacles......and had a completely different kind of test that was much more thorough.
I have to travel over half an hour by car plus parking fees
Didn't fill me with confidence that I was getting correct assessment
We performed procedure, which we asked to take to place contact lens, but examination was carried out for use of glasses and did not like
Staff should have been aware that Zeiss had changed their requirements for supplying superb lenses so in the end I was prescribed individual lenses at increased cost!
Apart from that, optometrist and staff very friendly and apologetic for length of time taken to put my order through as a result of the above!
Tried to book appointment online. Almost got right to the end, then had to log in! I don't want yet another online account, so had to phone up. Misleading that you can easily book online. True, only if you have a boots account.
Appointment was 7 minutes late. I always wonder with health appointments (doctor/dentist/opticians) how accommodating and tolerant they would be if I turned up 7 minutes late...
Girl at reception was a bit grumpy, but it was the end of the day.
Optometrist for contact lens appointment was great... very polite, effective and efficient.
All very good and prompt, but I would like to mention that when my husband had an inflamed eye and we just popped in to ask whether it needed urgent attention we were palmed off with "Go to A & E" Very naughty as A&E was packed with serious cases and we sat for 4 hours and then got attention - it was in fact an infection and could very well have waited until the next day at our GPs for attention!!
