Went to Boots in Whitefriars, Canterbury today. Hideous experience! I am part of the Boots Reward Scheme and pay monthly towards eye tests/lenses etc. The weather today has been awful and the roads were dangerous. Also, parking was difficult. I arrived (they said) 15 minutes late. It was nearer ten! Anyway, I apologized for being late and explained about the traffic. The receptionist proceeded to tell me that as I was late my appointment was cancelled and I would have to make another one. On every other appointment I have been to I have arrived early and my reason for being late was obvious. However, this is not the specific reason for writing this - it is to report the way I was spoken to by the receptionist. She was rude and dismissive. I have generally had very good service from the team there and was taken aback. I pay for a service and just this once was late and I was spoken to in a very dismissive manner. I completely understand that when someone is late this has a knock on effect and I was prepared for them to say that I may have a wait. Fair enough! But this was not an option. I asked for the manager and he was also very rude and confrontational. I will be raising these matters with their head office. I will also be raising other concerns I have about the competency of the two of the members of staff there, from a previous experience. I have now terminated any business with them and will be going nowhere near the place again!
