Chaotic. I had tried to fit the appointment into my lunch hour. There was nobody on the reception desk when I arrived. Eventually I was put into a tiny (and crowded) waiting area. Optician was running late. Eye test felt rushed and was interrupted by other people coming in for results. I felt uncertain that the result of the test would be any better than my existing prescription. Very limited time to discuss varifocal options. Had to leave without choosing lenses or glasses because I had been there an hour already and had to get back to work. The whole place felt disorganized and cramped. Difficult to make such big and costly decisions in this sort of environment.
