I received the most terrible customer service from Boots. They're very pushy about getting frames from them and at this point they're very helpful and friendly. However I was told I 'must' get frames rather than just off the shelf reading glasses even though all I need is reading glasses with a +1 prescription. When I came to collect the glasses there had been a mistake with the order and they never arrived. I asked for my money back and was told I would have to wait for the manager to authorise (which is fine) but he was busy with another customer (selling them glasses). I explained that I had already waited 20 minutes so would only be willing to wait another 5-10 minutes and could they tell the manager this. 15 minutes later I had to approach another member of staff to tell them the same thing. Again the manager's response was that he was busy. I had to make a fuss in front of the other customers for him to then quickly authorise the refund. Even then the sales assistant who served me took me to the till to give me my refund but was visibly annoyed that I had not simply sat waiting patiently for 30 minutes, and she made no apology. Interestingly since I have told other people about my experience a few have told me that they went to Boots in the past and no longer do because they find the service much too pushy and both Specsavers and Vision Express have a greater variety of some of the cheaper frames. Boots only want you to spend a lot of money with them.
