Share review of Boots Opticians Bedford - Harpur Centre
Service was great - but had to wait for 25 minutes to be seen by someone to collect glasses despite having an appointment. When I arrived at the desk there were 6 members of staff busy talking to each other - yet ignoring a customer at the desk.
When eventually someone noticed me I was told to sit down over there & someone would see me. After 10 minutes & still ignored another member of staff advised someone would be with me soon.
A further 10 mins & the wonderful lady who served me 2 weeks before noticed I was still being ignored & apologised for my wait & said someone would be with me soon.
A few minutes later the optometrist who originally met me 2 weeks ago intervened & sorted everything out. Was very helpful also.
One spends over £400 in a store, arranges a set time to collect glasses, takes 25 minutes to be seen to, & has to speak with 3 different members of staff before a 4th member eventually sees you.
Why have an appointments system? It gives the impression that once you have made an order & spent your money in the store, staff are too busy to speak & deal with you.
Fortunately the lady who served me originally 2 weeks previously who spotted me & the optometrist who also recognised me were both wonderful & apologised for the long wait.
Suggest staff behind the desk spend less time speaking with each other & more time interacting with their actual customers.
On a more positive note I am very happy with the glasses, a shame your systems for dealing with customers are so flawed.
