I couldn't fault the staff within the store who made my 8 year old comfortable and relaxed while choosing her new glasses. The optician, however, did not introduce himself, gave no welcome or ask anything to settle my daughter and generally gave the impression that checking her sight was too much hassle. It was the quickest, least personal experience I have had in the 6.5 years we have used Boots for her glasses.
