Prior my visit to the sugery, I was seen a range of different nurses and once I was discharged from hospital I was seen by district nurses as I was immobile after to undergoing emergency surgery due to sepsis. Unfortunately, I made a decision to discharged myself from the district nurses as I was not happy with the level of care provided as my wound was not making much progress in regards to healing. So I was then refered to a community nurse at my doctors surgery. Although, I was rather sceptical about this I just hoped for the best. From the onset of meeting Katrina, she was very professional, had a wealth of knowledge and tended to my wounds with exceptional care. She was respectful, compassionate and it's evident that her care of duty is at the heart of her delivering an impeccable experience to her patients. After a week or so, I could see the progression of my wound and I was extremely happy with the quality of care Katrina provided at each appointment. She yeilds a range of qualities that are at the heart of her service, she is erudite, caring, compassionate, and most importantly communicated effectively. Overall, she is an remarkable nurse that I am privileged to have experienced. Not only did she provide an efficient service of care but she promoted mental, physical and emotional health which was key for my recovery. I can only thank her as her passion for nursing enabled me to gain trust in examplary care provided by the NHS and also consistent reassurance in making a full recovery.
