I can't recommend Kathryn highly enough (or thank her enough for everything she has done for me). My condition was a complete shock as it came totally out of the blue and I ended up having emergency life saving and life changing surgery.
Her advice, help and support has enabled me to get my independence back, not to mention that she goes the extra mile liaising with GP's and the Hospital to expedite required further medical attention and assistance in appointments, which I would have had no clue about. Her knowledge and experience has been invaluable in getting the right products, assisting with my recovery/rehabilitation and ensuring that further complications have been minimal when I developed an allergic reaction to the appliance I now have to wear.
I hope other patients who are yet to go through what I've been through are lucky enough to have Kathryn allocated as their Stoma Nurse... she has been amazing. And, even though the allotted time frame has now ended for her to visit regularly she still makes herself available if needed. She is amazing!

Kathryn is a credit to Fittleworth with her special skills in caring for people such as myself with a stoma.
Always bright and cheerful on her visits which I will miss.
A very special lady.

Kathryn was fantastic. Only 7 weeks ago when I had my operation and I couldn’t of asked for a more caring or supportive nurse . Kathryn is kind and helped with confidence issues I had . Thank you Kathryn

Kathryn is very helpful and informative. She gave me several tips on how to cope with my fast flowing stoma. When I've left messages via her mobile she has always got back in touch with me promptly. I was having problems with leaks and she quickly came up with a solution, now my stoma is functioning well and looks healthy so much so that she doesn't need to visit anyone (not bad since I only came out of hospital a month ago). I have worked for Fittleworth Medical for 7 years covering community visits in the South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire region, but have worked as a stoma nurse for 13 years, working within a local hospital prior to working for Fittleworth. I qualified as a nurse in 2000, and my background as a nurse has always involved working on a surgical ward specialising in Colorectal surgery.
