I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 30 in December 2019. The diagnosis alone was a revelation, and it took me a further 6 months to decide to try medication to treat it. During this process, Tony was excellent at talking me through the medication available and discussing different options with me for care. I'm generally cautious with medication of all kinds, and although one medication had been suggested initially, I was keen to try something different that would allow me to 'dip my toe in the water'. This request was handled professionally and the necessary tests and precautions were taken. When I then had an (minor) adverse reaction to this medication, Tony advised caution and investigated further. I started a third option of medication after discussing further with Tony a couple of months ago and have been very pleased with the results. I have seen a dramatic improvement in my ability to control my impulses and to apply myself to work or home activities without being (often irrestibly) compelled to shift my attention to other areas that interest me more. Tony has been approachable, helpful and responsive at every step of my journey. I highly recommend him as a psychiatric nurse.
