I first met Gill Wilson in October 2019 after my operation for bowel cancer and had to have an ileostomy in Harrogate Hospital. From the first meeting with Gill after my surgery and back on the ward , I knew I was in good hands. Gill took great care in explaining exactly what I would be dealing with. Gill was always there when I needed her and was in my opinion very professional and kind . In all I had my ileostomy for almost 20 months and with Gill’s expertise and compassion it made my journey much smoother and manageable throughout.. Even on the ward after my reversal in April 2021, Gill would come and see me and reassure me that all was well. Gill Wilson is a very special lady indeed, and once again thank you.

At a difficult time in my life, when I was being treated for colon cancer, it was an absolute godsend to know that I could discuss problems with Gill at any time, to whom I am deeply grateful for her sensitivity and professionalism.

From the outset Gill was most professional and informative so that I was fully in the picture about things . She and her colleagues have been very supportive with follow up home visits , phone calls and e-mails to check on my post op progress . Thanks to her guidance I'm confident about my future and know I can contact her if necessary .
