I have written this in consultation with my mother, the care she received was excellent, although from being told she was being discharged to actual discharge was 5hrs, which meant that we were at the hospital from being picked up by ambulance at 0800 and discharged at 2000; after the department had closed because the application to the pharmacy had been submitted after the pharmacy had closed and an emergency pharmacist was called to issue med to go home, and the follow up meds had to be courier end to mums address the following day! I understand that mistakes happen, however this must have cost a considerable amount of money above the norm. at a time when cost are a paramount consideration!! It had made a very long day for my mother, and for myself, especially with the extra 5hrs added on!
