Review of Weston - Day Care Unit written by a patient
10th March 2016

From day one I feel I have benefited from day hospice. The staff have always listened to whatever I have needed to share, I have been treated with love and care I have not experienced anywhere else. Have felt and still do, that the quality of my life is much better for being a part of day hospice. Can't think of anything that could be improved.

The nurses give 110 percent also the ladies who help. Also our problems are sorted out for us if it's possible. I feel there could not possibly be any improvement, as the service is tip top. We are very lucky people.

I find the care at Western Hospice provided by the staff and volunteers is very good. They all have the patients care at heart and always do their best to answer any question I might have. The nursing staff are excellent and always help me with every problem I have regarding my treatment.

Everything was good about my care I was treated with dignity and respect and I felt that everyone really did care. The support I received was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The day hospice was very relaxing and it was very nice to chat with other patients. In fact I was treated like royalty!

Space to talk to people who understood my situation.Able to be honest without worrying about how the staff felt is invaluable as it is difficult to express feelings openly to family and friends. Thank you.

Review of Weston Hospice - Community Team written by a family member
29th January 2016

Able to stay at home until end of life. Excellent community care service team 'fast tracked' by hospice team for extra support in home - nursing assistants, district nurses, Marie Curie night nurses and use of equipment such as hospital bed etc. Communication within district nurse 'hub" could be improved - with shared information such as directions to find house, updating care needs across large team of nurses for continuity of care.
