Someone came to see us to explain about hospice care and support available. The nurse who should have been seeing my husband was on holiday and even when she returned. She never even got in contact. My husband only had weeks to live and we wanted to care for him at home. I don't feel that the little support we got was really helpful. I felt it was all about hospice care and not the support we really needed. We were only told he would get weaker which was happening anyway. We knew that but we were not told anything about what to expect. My husband has since passed away and it was over very quickly which was a blessing for him but I do think knowing more would have been more helpful to use in dealing with his death.
