Review of Hysteroscopy - Warwick Hospital
5th April 2023

Can I just say that everyone was exceptionally lovely. From the Dr to the nurses and even the med student was engaged and supportive. What is an unpleasant and invasive procedure was made very comfortable and gave me full control of decision making which was wonderful. I cant say how highly I rate this appointment. Pay rise all round please.

Review of Hysteroscopy - Warwick Hospital
5th April 2023

The care I received was exceptional. Selena, Vicky and Kathy (I hope I have their names right) all looked after me very well and took me through what was a very intimate, painful and personal procedure. I couldn't have gone through it without their help. Mr Mehr was a kind and caring professional and carried out the procedure with respect and care and communicated with me at all times.

Suggested improvements
I really can't think of anything other than doing the procedure under general anesthetic so that no pain is felt, but that then brings on other issues including cost so no.

Review of Day Surgery Unit General Card
5th April 2023

First class service from first contact. Very efficient contact system using text and hard copy letters. Warwick has great teams in urology and colorectal surgery.

Suggested improvements
The final post-operative system, immediately pre-discharge could be improved. This applied ONLY to my last TART operation, 3 April. I was wheeled into a blank reception area (a bit like the goods inward area at Tesco). There was no view of any nursing station, so it was not possible to attract attention. I could not see them - so they could not see me if I needed help. Also, I was given no information as to how long I would have to remain there or what the release process was. At one stage, a nurse scribbled 'SPINAL' on a bit of card, which presumably meant I was treated differently from 'GA'. Eventually, after asking for and getting a sandwich and several cups of tea, I unilaterally decided to dress myself (I had been there for about 2 hours) but nurse 'Ratchet' (from Cuckoos Nest fame) instructed me to remain on my bed. (Fair enough!). I subsequently asked another nurse if and when I could leave and I was told I had to pass urine first. This was no problem as by then I had probably consumed a litre of tea. So some 6 hours after my op. Sister, Jo, completed a very efficient discharge process and another nurse escorted me to where my wife was waiting to take me home. (I like to think that this was to make sure I was safe - but it may have been to make sure I left the premises!) All this being said, I cannot praise too highly all the dedicated staff at the hospital and the care I was given. Clearly the patient comes first - even if sometimes the attention to detail irritates (unreasonably) a patient like me who has received first class treatment. Thank you Warwick. I will come any time - but I hope not too soon! Alf Manders
