The staff on reception and the nurse who saw me initially were all very good. Attentive, listened to what I said and took appropriate action. Unfortunately I had to repeat everything again to the A&E doctor who didn’t listen properly to what I said and often repeated inaccuracies back to me in my medical history. She ignored the symptoms that were of most concern to me (spiking heart rate) and fobbed me off suggesting the chest pain was ingestion and to try gaviscon. Whilst also telling me to mask the symptoms with pain relief. Whilst I has some reassurance that I was not at any immediate risk, there was no care or attention as to what I should do next. I appreciate A&E departments are busy it felt like she just wanted me out of the door

Suggested improvements
The A&E doctor should read the notes from the nurse, practice taking blood (I have 2 big bruises on my arms where she kept messing it up), learn to listen to all symptoms rather than ignoring those that don’t fit a weak diagnosis and think about what a patient actually needs - she thought telling me there was nothing wrong with me was a good thing but when I’m experiencing chest pain, breathlessness and heart rate spikes on a regular basis, her telling me that everything is fine and that “it’s a good thing” doesn’t help
