I have to have colonoscopies every 2 years, and todays was by far the best experience I’ve had. The service was very timely and all the staff cared for me. However I’d like to raise a particular comment about CE Alison Lawrence. Alison was incredibly knowledgable about my particular condition (Lynch Syndrome), and was able to talk to me about the latest research and advice she had gained. Her colonoscopy was the most comfortable I have ever had, with hardly any pain (no sedative administered for any of the 4 procedures I’ve had). I can only put it down to her technique and knowledge that what usually is a very painful experience was much more comfortable, and her manner whilst doing so completely put me at ease. Well done to the whole department, but particular praise to Alison for making what could be a painful day much better!

Suggested improvements
The only thing would have been to have contacted me to let me know the procedure was still going ahead despite the strikes, but this is a very very very minor thing.
