The ward itself is clean bright and quite well equipped with bathing/ toileting facilities. The nursing staff demonstrate consistently excellent practice in terms of (for example) prevention of infection. The routine ward work appears to be well organised and 'fits' around the patients' day rather than vice versa.

All staff from sisters and surgeons to domestic staff were respectful and friendly and the ward was kept very clean. Student staff on the unit were well informed and good at the tasks undertaken.
