My first day on Ruby ward. The medic saw me but thought antidepressant wasn't needed for my low mood and suicidal thoughts. That I should simply have therapy. I have a degree in psychology and there is no way a person can engage in a therapeutic sense if they are actively low and suicidal. I learnt that physical health monitoring is not priority on mental health ward. Pain management is also not priority. This is my first time on mental health ward, so I an learning alot. On positive side, nursing care is still good, they ask if u if i had prescribed medication, u tell them no, and they will bring it for u. Even though it later thN prescribed. I understand as I am a general nurse. Things get missed.
