The palliative care received at the end of life was very much appreciated; however, I would have liked more of it. The physical care provided only came during the last 2 days of my partner's life and not at the time of day I really needed it, which was overnight. I cannot fault the care provided by the two nurses I saw. They were both extremely kind and sensitive to the patient's condition and needs. The last nurse I saw, who was present at the patient' death (nurse name Mickey) and arrived only very shortly before he died, dealt quickly and sensitively with the situation, allowing me time to spend with the patient in his last few minutes whilst discreetly making herself scare.
