The patient's cataract op on 7th Feb 2018. Inspite of my age I was placed last on the operating list. This resulted in my waiting for discharge for nearly 2 hours after everyone else had been checked and collected. The area became deserted. This was very frustrating and leaves me apprehensive in respect of getting my other eye treated. Someone should be responsible for patient discharge. Apart from my 'Mr. Cellphone' experience. The system worked very well with only minor room for improvement. I would be happy to talk about details if anyone wished to contact me.

Response from St Mary's Hospital

I am sorry to read about your concerns relating to your recent experience within Day Surgery. Whilst we cannot always influence the order of lists there are things we can do to try and make it less frustrating for you. Please do not let this put you off getting further treatment. I am more than happy to discuss your experience with you. I am happy for you to contact me on the day surgical unit to discuss your concerns (Sister Day Surgery)
