I was referred for an Asperger’s assessment. At the initial screening, they refused to progress my assessment further because they said, “you’re not struggling enough”, despite persistent unemployment. I’ve never felt so belittled or uncared for from a service before. At another time, I was immediately discharged because the antidepressants they prescribed had no good effect and they gave up on me.

They could have cared more and recognised my struggles.
