I have seen many different members of the mental health team over the years. I met [name removed] Community Psychiatric Nurse in person for my Assessment of Needs a few weeks ago and have just had an ad-hoc Teams call with her to support me further as I was struggling completing a form. She's made it clear she's always on hand to support me. [name removed] is the best nurse I have met so far. She's incredibly calming, understanding and makes you feel "seen". Her kindness really helps me open up more and talk. She let me explain my symptoms without asking leading questions or making assumptions or putting me in a box based on my previous notes. She listened fully before trying to explore more. I really feel like she gets me and all my quirks. Through her I have found that struggles I've experienced could potentially be linked to ADHD. She has given me so much support and links to groups that can support me, whilst I start my journey through diagnosis that could take many years. She is an absolute asset to the NHS and the Mental Health team. I'm very very thankful to have her to support me and appreciate all she has done for me so far and I'm sure will continue to do. All the members of the mental health team have been good, but [name removed] has something about her that makes me feel better, even after a 30min conversation. She "gets" person-centred care completely. More dedicated nurses like [name removed], please!!
