* I was not introduced by mums main nurse. * I was not kept up to date with plans regarding mum. Berry wood not followed. * When I asked nurses/ carers is check on mum as she was upset this didn't happen. * After weekend away told may to isolate! Not fair. * Better visiting plate for young children. * Staff didn't really get to know mum. * Constant changing of staff.

Suggested improvements
* Mums room not on her ward, taking away independence to come and goes she pleased. * Attitude towards young people visiting.

Response from St Mary's Hospital

It is very difficult to provide a response as the comments are anonymous. Had the relative asked to speak to the Matron directly the relatives concerns could have been addressed and resolved. Unfortunately due to covid protocols at the time the isolation protocols and risk assessments meant that isolation following a period of leave was required. Due to risk to children we cannot allow under those under 18 to visit within the ward environment. A family room is provided for this purpose and is located in the reception corridor off of the ward.
