It was most helpful different ideas what I feel will be a help. Have a phone call in a week for face to face is much better.
The care given was first class, everyone was so caring and nothing was too much for them.
The counsellor I spoke to was superb. My dad died after a very stressful time and I asked for support. The counsellor I was allocated, Amber, was fabulous; it was like talking to a friend but a friend who doesn’t let you get off easily. I said to her, you’re like a terrier; you don’t let go. She challenged me to think outside the box at every session. And my goodness it did me the power of good. I would pay to continue those sessions. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much to St Helena for facilitating this.
I lost my husband David to cancer two years ago. He had been in the care of St Helena in the last few weeks of his life. Losing him left a massive gap in my life and unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, I was unable to visit the hospice to thank the staff & volunteers for the care they had shown David and also sit quietly to reflect. It felt like my whole world had been turned upside down. After a few months of struggling to cope, I reached out to St Helena for help. I was contacted by Lindy, a member of the bereavement support team. We struck up a relationship straight away over our weekly phone calls and I felt that I finally had someone to share my sadness with other than family. I cannot begin to express my gratitude for how Lindy has helped me through the last year or so. I have had a few bumps in the road along the way and she has always been there to listen and put me back on the right path. St Helena staff & volunteers are wonderful and I want to say a big thank you again to you all for your care for David and your support for me. Thank you again. Sue Hanton x
Debbie was courteous and contant and shared her knowledge to gain trust and buy in. She made suggestions which were things I did not thought about that would be helpful in the future.
Julia was very sympathetic and completely understanding. I felt confident and completely at ease, and found I was able to talk openly.
Emma was very caring, informative and only has my interest at heart! Excellent service!
They are very good in every way.
I have received treatment and courses before with St Helena and Colchester and it’s always been great.
My therapy was over the phone so no face to face contact but I was always treated with respect and given the appropriate support when needed most.
St Helena Hospice was awarded the iWantGreatCare certificate of excellence in 2024 for delivering outstanding care.
