A great experience although apprehensive we shouldn't have been. We were called the day a bed was ready, the lady we spoke to told us exactly what we needed to bring and offered to book transport if we needed it. We were met by friendly faces in a relaxed environment, and it was obvious we were expected. A care organisor called Becky introduced herself and made us tea, helped us settle in explaining everything. I was able to stay wife during her admission was with a doctor and Becky the focus really was on her needs and aims. The whole team were amazing from the pinkies to consultant. We met Becky again to discuss my wife's wish to go home and how we could do to make this possible like nurses coming I and medical equipment thinks we may want at home. The physio and occupational therapy team were great and even came to the house. My wife is well enough to go home from the hospice. Every member of the staff was respectful and kind. I was supported very well myself. We still are as we have a folder of information and medication rota which the district nurse uses as well. A specialist nurse is making contact with us this week; her name is is also Becky! I cannot thank the whole team enough.
