I am 83 and have stomach cancer, arthritis and stigma- I choose not to have any treatment. I don't want any more investigations. My lovely family are very supportive and my husband of 66 years looks after me wonderfully. It is so wonderful that the palliative care team are there to support me- just a phone call away, that means a lot to me. At the moment I am very happy living with cancer. OK, eating is very difficult but I try (and succeed) to get at least 1000 good calories down me every day. My nurse Anne very kindly arranged for me to get ensure on prescription and at the moment I have one day which boasts my intake by 310 calories. Thank you for the knowledge that when the going gets really tough you will all be there for me, at the moment I am living with cancer not dying with cancer.
