Appointment system runs very smoothly from first point of contact with the receptionist through to treatment by doctor
Sadly, I was not at all impressed with the care I received at The Spire, I think the nursing staff were not empathetic at all (apart from the senior male nurse who was there at the time) Physiotherapy was practically non existent. Whilst I appreciate one physio phoned in sick, there was no back up/support and no advice on leaving as to when/where/who to go to for post operative physiotherapy.
I do appreciate it was difficult because there was no cooking being done on site, but the food was awful.
Some staff amazing some not ! And not consistence with how they dealt with me
I have had 3 occasions to use day case services in 2022. Excellent on all 3 occasions. Lovely caring staff. Comfortable facilities. Very competitive prices. Symbiotic benefits due to location adjacent to UHS. Wide choice of specialists.I would highly recommend Spire Southampton for anyone needing treatment without delay.
From the beginning arriving to the reception desk they were very helpful & friendly we have a welcoming staff to help us sign in through electronically.
I didn’t have to wait at all Mr Ali was seconds with in calling me & I was pleasantly surprised my husband like join me in the consultation, everything was explain regarding my scans & what treatment was going to be best for my health. Mr Ali took his time examining me & asking me how I was feeling pain wise & he access my mobility once he did that he explained with the scan & his skeletal spinal mannequin & the piece it was going to replaced my disc in my spine. We were very satisfied & happy on how the consultation went on.
Professional and courteous. From check-in to being received in the ward to the post- treatment care. All the staff and nurses were brilliant.
I was treated with care and compassion. I cannot praise the staff enough, they were magnificent.
All staff were professional, caring and willing to assist. Everyone had a smile which helped put me at ease.
The room facilities were very clean and tidy, however the light above the bed service button did not work and the TV connection was lose and didn’t always work without a member of staffs help.
The care I received was professional: however, I found several members of staff unfriendly and no one at reception every acknowledged me, particularly on discharge. There were 3 professionals I liked. Lyn on pre-admission telephone call, Van a male nurse and Clyde senior night nurse. The food was adequate but very little effort had been made to make a tray look attractive. I asked for some pepper, to be told that ….. “we haven’t had any pepper for months” …. My room whilst fairly clean apart from the bedside table, was very poor in quality. The bedside cabinet looked 100 years old and the very few coat hangers provided, were attached to a rail and couldn’t t be removed. Is this really necessary? On the day after surgery, 2 different workmen knocked and came in Without me answering that they could. One wanted to change a shower head and the other came in with a hammer and fire instructions to bang into the door. Feeling very sleepy and not well, , this felt very instructive and unnecessary. Surely they could have waited until I had been discharged? Particularly as I wasn’t allowed to shower. Overall I was disappointed with the clinic because I felt there was no empathy for the patient. Pre-surgery I had an MRSA/MSSA swab - when it turned out I was carrying MSSA, three different people called me at different times to enquire whether I knew this - not very joined up administration I felt.
The nurses who looked after me were amazing so helpful and respectful. Best hospital I have been too and would highly recommend. The receptionist upon arrival were friendly and so efficient and made me feel at complete ease.
