I was given a wrongly written prescription with a child who was 5 days post op spiking a temperature for antibiotics as she had a suspected infection. when I got to pharmacy they informed me they didn’t have the antibiotics not to mention it was wrongly dosed! I was told I had to go back to A&E with a sick child when I’d already waited hours ! By this point she was spiking a temp again I went to the children’s ward where we were originally suppose to go however we hadn’t be informed of the admission by A&E who just put us in a waiting room to wait to see a GP when we’d just come from a GP ! The nurses told me they couldn’t help and to go back to A&E so I dragged my sick 5 ye old back to A&E where I had to cry at the nurse I’m charge to get the prescription corrected. They even suggested giving her a different antibiotic which was penicillin based when she’s allergic to penicillin ! I managed to locate a bottle of the antibiotic she needed I got a green prescription from a kind doctor who took pitty on us. I then drove an hour out of county to collect the antibiotics. I thought they way we were treated was appalling.

Suggested improvements
The actual peads doctor was lovely however the way it was handled after the entities assessment was terrible.
