Overall I was completely satisfied with the care and service I received. The nurse was very knowledgable and explained everything in detail which made it easier for me to understand. She was very professional in her approach to the care and service delivery. Excellent service, thanks very much.

I feel if i need the nurses in future i can contact them.
I have had 2 episodes of care under the nuraes as have had both an Ileostomy and Colostomy.
From the outset the care, compassion and professionalism shown by Gill was just incredible. My wife was admitted to hospital with what turned out to be bowel cancer and had emergency surgery and a stoma. This was of course a shock to us and something my wife had not expected and so for us all was something we needed to come to terms with and learn about quickly. Gill was there for us as incredible support with honest caring and practical guidance. We honestly cannot thank Gill enough. Her help continued as she was always available with any questions we had when unsure. Incredible care from an incredible lady.

Amazing service from Harriet seeley. My stoma nurse. She looked after me like my mother
Harriet has been my stoma nurse for nearly 2 years now and she has been wonderful the whole way through the process. She is always there to answer my questions and give me lots of support. I have a lot of illnesses and stuff going on in my personal life and she doesn't just help me with my stoma, she listens to me and really cares. She cheers me up when I am feeling down. She has fixed me every time I have a problem with my stoma and I do not know what I would do without her. Thank you Harriet :)
I’ve found everything about the support I’ve given excellent and a real comfort to me.
I’ve had timely responses to any issues and it’s made a real difference to my emotional state and wellbeing.
By contrast to some of the general nursing care I received, the stoma care was excellent. The stoma nurses were unfailingly helpful, expert and understanding. I'd been warned before my (urgent) surgery that I might wake up to find I had a stoma, so obviously I was rather apprehensive. However, when I did come round, the stoma nurse was there, and explained about it in detail. I was surprised how quickly I accepted the situation, especially since I'm probably the least brave person I know, and I'm sure that my experience was due to the nurse talking me through it, and showing me there and then, how to empty and change the bag, etc.
While some of the general nursing care was good, a small number of general nurses were appallingly unreliable, unwilling to listen to me generally, especially unwilling to listen when I expressed anxiety, and (worst of all) made me wait, sometimes an hour or more, for pain relief when I'd told them I had breakthrough pain. By contrast, the stoma nurses became for me rather like an oasis in a desert. I knew I could rely on the stoma nurses to be empathic and to respond effectively and rapidly, irrespective of the heavy workload. So, five stars. Living becomes very complicated when you have a Stage 4 rectal carcinoma, and it really helps to have good, responsive stoma management. Plus they explained all about future stoma supplies from SALT, and what they told me has been borne out by my experience post-discharge. So thanks to all concerned.
the care and knowledge from Fiona Holtham has made it very easy for me to accept having an ostomy.
I have had contact with both Alison and Helen and both very professional and knowledgable
