As a person going through a painful and exhausting cancer journey, post-surgery chemo treatment and the heartbreak of very recent recurrence of the disease, Sam’s kind, gentle and empathetic manner when talking, listening and advising was just what I needed. I instantly felt I could open up to her in a natural way. She recommended aromatherapy oils, advised on which treatments would benefit me and tailored them for me - at first with at home visits. As I felt more myself she gave me the confidence to go to her treatment room at Pilgrims, which was a big step for me. The treatments are a dreamy little escape from everything for a little while, and the combination of her kindness and her magic hands are things that have given an incalculable benefit to my physical and mental well-being. I still find it hard to believe these amazing services from the hospice have been made available to me. I feel very lucky to be able to benefit from them once in a while.

Suggested improvements
Everyone I have ever met at Pilgrims Hospice, from the team on reception to the doctors to Sam have been nothing but lovely. The grounds are an immaculate haven and the treatment room a calming sanctuary. I can think of nothing that could have been done better on any of my visits.
