On the whole my experience at Newham University Hospital was superb and the medical treatment received a success. Despite the staffs busy schedules I was kept informed at all times with my expectations well managed. I was pleasantly surprised by two members of staff who excelled in the care that they offered. Both Dr Eliot Williams and Emma Berwick delivered professional care in a friendly manner, displayed genuine compassion and tried their upmost to expedite my recovery. They are a credit to your team. As I was admitted to the East Ham Ward unexpectedly it was comforting to find a patient welcome pack, especially the toothbrush and razor. If I could find an area in which the hospital could improve, it is to provide better toiletries. The bar of soap was difficult to open and unpleasant to use. I would have preferred a shampoo and body wash dispenser in the shower cubical. There was also one mirror mounted on an adjacent wall to the hand basin. It would have been more convenient if a mirror was nearer the basin, plus it would mitigate water being trailed on the floor improving both hygiene and safety.
