The care I received from the surgeons, anaesthetists and nurses at Newham Hospital: Gateway Surgical Unit was outstanding. I was really anxious about having a hip operation but everyone always took time to explain and offer reassurance. Post Op, yes there is some pain but the doctors/nurses try to limit it, it's nothing like that arthritic pain. I am grateful to everyone. If there's an area of care that needs improving it is the physio/occupational therapists. They do not spend enough time with patients. Time should be taken to watch, encourage and ensure that exercises are done correctly.
