The care I receive on Chartwell is always exemplary. I am treated with dignity, respect and professionalism and the staff go out of their way to make my weekly visits as stress- free as they can. I would, however, like to point out at the Suite's "new" equipment is making life more difficult for both patients and staff and, in my honest opinion, they are not fit for purpose. During my visit on 8th August the machine to which my blood was connected, stopped working on 3 separate occasions making my already long stay, even longer. I have been transfusion-dependent for some two years and never, ever, experienced any problems with the original equipment. It seems to me that these replacements are an absolute waste of NHS money.
