Share review of Maidstone Hospital
We arrived on a bank holiday Monday when the department was busy but we had seen a triage nurse within half an hour who offered a likely diagnosis and pain relief. She then took us straight through to the area for bloods to be taken and again we were seen very quickly.
There was an hour to wait for blood results, but within 15 minutes my daughter was given IV antibiotics for her infection ( resulting from a insect bite). Because she had a raised heart rate she was given an ECG immediately as a precaution.
We were very impressed with the speed and efficiency of the service, as well as treatment by all the staff, who were cheerful and helpful despite the 34 degree temperatures outside.
We were out in around 3.5 hours compared to a probability of 8 hours in Sheffield. Well done to all in the department. Thank you
