Very professional and caring.
From the moment I came to Longfield, I felt cared for.
The helpers, the people in the art room, the cooks providing delicious food, everyone made me feel life could still be worth living.
After losing my husband in December and knowing I have terminal cancer.
I was almost ready to give up, but you all gave me a reason to live.
Many thanks and God bless, Pamhervis.
Everyone was very friendly and welcoming.
If you wanted to have a quiet time you could.
There was always a listening ear if you had a little worry about anything.
From the initial assessment I felt that I was listened to and respected by all of the team. Also the staff and volunteers have a perfect balance of being there, but not being intrusive. Everyone has the opportunity to interact and are given the opportunity for individual complementary therapy. This all comes together in such a calm way and allowed me to forget about everything for one day a week. This in turn has allowed me some space to begin that I am facing. Longfield is an incredible special place where all the staff and volunteers have created a safe and calm environment where you can just be, or create, or interact with others and talk about and share experiences or ways that have helped. Please see back page.
It was something I have never done before and stretched my mind, very enjoyable.
The complimentary massage that I had actually improved the quality of my dialysis sessions. Sometimes I would be able to remove more waste fluids for up to a week after massage. This is probably due to the draining of their lymph nodes. My therapist was very caring, understanding, friendly and professional. The only thing that could improve the service that I received is if it were able to continue. I had 6 session of which I am most thankful.
The pacing was good. Helpful to get back into it, especially the colours. I appreciated the volunteer drivers.
My counsellor was excellent and I could not have asked for anything more. Thank you.
I received excellent bereavement counselling. The counsellor was extremely conscientious in her care. It was free so that was very helpful in a time of financial uncertainty. I would recommend this service highly to anyone who has been bereaved.
Longfield Hospice was awarded the iWantGreatCare certificate of excellence in 2024 for delivering outstanding care.
