Good support from both doctors and other involved health professionals. But problems with repeated cancellations of OT classes.

Response from Isebrook Hospital

Thank you for your comments. We have been able to clarify that there have been problems with the last Life Skills group (LSG) that was being run by an Occupational Therapy. During the running of the last LSG there were several factors that hindered the continuity of the group. Staff issues such as sickness and staff moving areas affected two of the planned weeks. Problems also occurred due to the poor attendance of service users to the group which in order to function effectively required a certain number of participants. A decision was made at this time to stop running this particular group. Occupational Therapy is now looking at how they can ensure improve both continuity of staff and attendance by service users to prevent groups needing to finish prior to the end date.

+ Highly qualified doctors who offer a long enough appointment to discuss all the issues. - To improve: - Need a weekly appointment with a psychologist - need to have a psychologist.

Response from Isebrook Hospital

Thank you for your feedback. Service users are referred for assessment of need for psychology by Consultants, doctors and care coordinators with in the team. The assessment is undertaken by the psychologists and the decision is made as to whether psychology can offer an appropriate course of treatment for the service user. The frequency of required appointments is based on what type of therapy is to be undertaken and is discussed with service users at the beginning of any therapeutic intervention. In some cases weekly appointments are made however this is based on the individual need of a service user rather than a standard.

Location - is out the way and secluded.

Response from Isebrook Hospital

Thank you for your feedback. This issue has been raised by several service users and is an area where improvement definitely is required. Temporarily we have put up a laminated poster in the glass atrium entrance to Abbey Block to advise where the main Abbey Block entrance is sited as many people see the sign for Abbey Block above this entrance but are unable to get in this way. This has caused frustration for service users. We are arranging better signage for the CMHT near the main entrance of the Isebrook Hospital and also feel that signage at the smaller entrance to the hospital would be beneficial. We are also looking to produce a new clearer up to date map of Isebrook hospital could be made and sent out with appointment letters.

Drs explained what was wrong with and the different drugs and effects they may have on my health, body and mind. All the people were polite and did not appear "dismayed" when I come in as some of my fellow works have done over the years. I have always received a copy of the Drs report as I have requested in case there are errors in what was discussed. So far there have only been typos.
