I found the six week post op appointment reassuring. I had been forewarned that some swelling was likely, but was worried by the extent and discomfort caused. Mr Norton was clear in that he considered blood thinners to be the cause, especially due to the triple dose administered by my GP when DVT was a concern. Thankfully negative! Mr Norton's explanation gave me the confidence to dispose of crutches and exercise as much as possible. Swelling remains extreme but slowly diminishing. The appointment was not rushed, questions answered in clear and concise language. Most importantly, the hip replacement went well and I thank Mr Norton, his team and the nurses for their care.
