The best care, a credit to the entire service..
It was completely overrun, had to sit on the floor outside the building in a queue for an hour and a half then another 2 and a half hours once inside. No provisions made for sick people waiting outside, no cover or chairs.
There were no beds ready and I was walked around the a&e department a couple of times even though I was struggling to breath. The. Put in a mental health room. The I waited an hour for bloods to be taken then over an hour after that before I moved to a bed then another wait before I any treatment
Even though A&E is under construction we were expecting a long wait. We were seen by Reception (very friendly and informative staff and my son was given pain killers), we were immediately transfered to the fracture clinic and didn't have to wait in A&E. In my opinion this works better than the old system where you waiting in A&E, then had xrays and then came back to A&E. From entering A&E to leaving the hospital (after seeing the Dr twice, xrays and plaster cast put on) we were there for 2.5 hours.
Excellent service, nurses and doctors so friendly and helpful
Ambulance guys were spot on .. the care was not never tge less cos I left early without being seen cos I was too impressed with the attitude of the receptionist that came and made the officer sit on the floor while she was taking my details as I was a victim of crime... no compassion at all
