WELL LOOKED AFTER MANY NURSES BRILLIANT OTHERS LESS SO DR NICHOLAS GEORGE DESERVES SPECIAL MENTION. THIS MANS PROFESSIONALISM KNOWLEDGE AND CARING ATTITUDE WAS BRILLIANT THANK GOODNESS FOR ALL THEIR CARE
EXTRA STAFF ARE NEEDED DURING NIGHT DUTIES
I attended Darlington memorial hospital a couple of weeks ago and had a mammogram done, the lady was lovely and really reassuring and she really made me feel at ease.
I then had to have a ultra sound as biopsy done and the nurse Alison Marshall was so lovely, I was so nervous and she really reassured, and talked me through it which was really nice of her, and relaxed me a little. The man doctor was also nice and explained what was happening.
Just back from taking my 7 year old to fracture clinic, we are visitors to the area. We have received exemplary service from all involved - reception staff, Mr Fourie and his registrar (Erin), technicians in the plaster room and all the nursing staff in clinic. Everything was efficient, caring and much appreciated.
Mr. Corner Mr. Corner was extremely abrasive, and totally devoid of empathy. After a mammogram and scan i found myself being spoken to like a child, in front of a young student nurse, all the while topless and feeling understandably quite vulnerable under the circumstances. The man is simply incapable of listening, I won't ever return for future tests.
I saw Dr Theohlopoulou yesterday in DMH OPD for my first appointment and was so aggrieved and disappointed by her manner, that I asked to be transferred to another clinician on my next visit. Before it was my turn to see the doctor I watched how she spoke and dealt with an elderly gentleman and his wife and thought to myself, I hope I'm not seeing that doctor but unfortunately I did!
She called my name when it was my turn but did not introduce herself "My name is ..." and her whole rapor, body language and tone said that that I was a problem and she couldnt be bothered. When I was asked details of my condition she would interupt me and said on a few occassions "whatever" and then move on and ask another question. She appeared to want me out of the clinic room as fast as possible but continued to ask me questions about my medication as I she asked me to leave clinic room. I felt that the appointment had been wasted to some degree as I was not given an opportunity to discuss my symptoms as she appeared to totally disregard anything I had to contribute.
After my appointment, I did express my concerns to the nurses supporting the clinic and they advised I was not the first to complain about Dr Theohlopoulou and suggested I complete this questionnaire.
I am also an employee of county durham NHS FT, which this doctor was unaware of and I found it highly embarassing that a fellow colleague could treat patients in this manner, hence the reason for saying I would not recommend a friend or family to this trust "IF" they were referred to this particular consultant.
Nursing staff on Ward 21 were fantastic - cheerful, caring and attentive. The surgeon Ms Donlon visited every day which must mean she came in on at least one of her days off. It made all the difference that one of us was able to stay overnight and were also given a bed and breakfast.
From the beginning of our experience with the 111 operator to the paramedics and hospital staff our treatment was outstanding. They have all worked very hard to make us feel at ease and kept us informed of everything they where doing. A massive thank you to everyone
Found everything satisfactory.
