Review of Lymphoedema Palliative Care Team written by a patient
22nd November 2019

The lymphoedema nurse are very supportive and thorough. They explain the toilet and are really helpful and professional. It would be good if there was more involvement of the beast clinic rather than at the hospice and if the word palliative could be changed to supportive. There are people who live 20-30 years with lymphoedema .

It was varied and all aspects covered. As there were three specialists, exercise diet and medication were all covered. Particularly beneficial was the session on breathlessness. I thought the session on medication was a bit too long as each person's requirements are different.

programme well thought through and tackled real issues. Staff had a friendly approach to everyone. Timing could be improved- hard to get places for a 1pm start. Location is awkward for public transport.

Thank you for the positive feedback regarding the programme. We will take on board your comments about the timing of the sessions as we look at programmes on offer in 2020. We also have volunteer drivers available to support where patients struggle to attend sessions.

Dr Helen Streeter, Sally, OT and Claire, Physio. All extremely kind, caring and helpful to me and my family. Any query or concern is fully and patiently answered. A couple of times we have been offered tea in reception on arrival. This is very welcome whist waiting for our appointment.

Hospice at home could only be improved by getting more staff. The staff you do have were excellent.
