Review of Hospice @ Home written by a family member

My husband died in April after a long illness. I was extremely grateful and impressed by the care he received at home prior to his death. All staff members were caring, kind and professional to both him and myself.

Helen was brilliant- took time to explain every aspect of my problem with care and compassion. Her explanations were thorough and explicit. She treated my husband who accompanied me also with care and support and respect. We could not have wished for a better service. Thank you Helen

Review of Wellbeing @ Cynthia Spencer
12th June 2021

I was sceptical about the Mindfulness programme before it started but actually found it enjoyable and useful. However, I have really missed the weekly sessions at Wellbeing. The staff, volunteers and other patients always created a positive atmosphere which is so important when most of my time is spent at home. Human contact is necessary to avoid loneliness and becoming inward looking. The online sessions have been a lifeline during the Covid-19 restrictions but are a poor substitute for face to face interactions. That is not to say they were not beneficial The staff did create a meaningful experience and it was goof to see people I had physically met previously as well as new people. I do hope that we can soon meet face to face again (I particularly enjoy thr freedom of being able to go round the grounds in my wheelchair) but in the meantime I hope I can join more online sessions.

A well run, kind and considerate service. Very knowledgeable and skilful. Time given in an unhurried way. An understanding shown of the effect of managing lymphoedema in real life.

Suggested improvements
A session or two giving lymph drainage please. Watching a video made by a different authority at home and then listening to advice, instructions during an appointment is confusing.

The well-being staff were amazing. I cannot find fault with them in any way. I looked forward to the weekly virtual sessions which were delivered in a professional manner. As well as helping me mentally, we had lots of fun.
