During final 2 weeks or so of my late wife's life the Hospice At Home team were there providing several 3 hour periods of attendance giving my daughter and myself much needed respite. The team involved, from making the arrangements to those in attendance, were all very helpful, understanding, kind, and respectful. Without their support and that of other agencies such as Marie Curie and AgeUK Carers we would have struggled to cope with caring for my wife in a decent, respectful and proper manner.
Supportive to me as carer and deeply compassionate to my late husband. He was treated with the utmost respect dignity. Prompt response at difficult times.
Thank you all so much for your help with { } god bless you all.
All of the staff were caring and courteous and fortunately were there when my husband passed away. They gave me excellent support at my most distressing time.
Helen and Julie at the centres are just brilliant. They are caring, understanding and listen to me. Helen has been so supportive of me with the condition which has helped me to learn to live with it. She is caring, compassionate, understanding and always ready to help with considered advice. It is a pity that there are not more lymphodema centres and that they are based within a Hospice, albeit the Well Being centre. It didn't worry me but it has others who I know have the same condition.
Thank you for your feedback regarding the service being based in a Hospice. Lymphoedema services are often based within Hospice settings around the country as they are often linked to palliative care teams. As our team is so small only consisting of 3 clinical staff, we do not have the capacity to run clinics on multiple sites. Should the service increase in size in the future then we will certainly consider where our clinics are being held
The lady was very attentive to my condition and needs and made me feel that my well being and mental health was as important as my physical condition and also as important to them. For me to achieve a good quality of life.
