The staff who came were gentle and caring to myself and my daughter. We were given time to ourselves, secure in the knowledge that my husband was in safe and caring hands. They were sympathetic with and understanding of the situation and carried out their expert duties with respect to my husband. I have no criticism of them in anyway. The only improvement I could see was that a little more notice might be given (though I realize that this is well high impossible, given the nature of the work). As to when they could come. I vaguely remember some class of visiting with the IC team on one occasion.

Response from Cynthia Spencer Hospice

Thank you for your feedback regarding notice of shifts to be provided. We will endeavour to look at ways of providing more notice of visits as the service develops further. Presently, the service is limited to booking shifts a day or a few hours ahead, due to the nature of the patients we are caring for and the patient’s condition can deteriorate within a matter of a few hours.
