I completed this survey in consultation with my grandmother who was in the care of Turn Furlong. She gave a much higher rating for aspects of her care than I would have given. I will be making a separate complaint to the Care Quality Commission because I was appalled by the treatment of my grandmother I witnessed on multiple occassions. My grandmother was not listened to when she asked for her care to be altered. She often refused to eat her dinner at night because she was given the same meal repetitively that she did not like. The carers would remove her full plate and not ask her whether she wanted anything else. My grandmother lost weight rapidly. She developed Deep Vein Thrombosis because she was not getting up and moving around. She has been discharged without mobility, whereas she had full mobility before she went in to care. My grandmother also was left to her own devices on multiple occasions and she often experienced cognitive decline because she was left with no one to talk to. Overall, her care was atrocious.
